S.T.A.R.T.
The Supervisors Transition and Readiness Training program (S.T.A.R.T.) is designed for individuals who are about to, or who recently have, become supervisors. A study by Development Dimensions International revealed that 42 percent of new managers don’t understand what it takes to succeed. S.T.A.R.T. addresses this shortcoming by addressing three critical questions.
- What does it mean to be a supervisor?
- How can new supervisors make a successful transition from being an individual contributor to being in charge of a unit, a team, or an entire department?
- How should new supervisors deal with the most common practical issues they face?
Participants create a Transition Action Plan that outlines specific steps they will take to ensure that their transition is successful, and what long-range skill development options they will pursue.
